Koitola (World of Phaos Based)

If you have Modified WoP, and I mean majour modifications. Then post a link here and tell us about it.

Koitola (World of Phaos Based)

I was just wondering if anyone here would like to try and play Koitola, it is based on Phaos, and Kallen. I did what I could to add a lot of customization to it, most of the changes are not seen, either code changes, or in the admin panel.

I gave all proper mentions of Zeke in the front page, with a link to sourceforge.net where the original source code is at, so I hope that it is all legit!

Let me know!

I did what I could to deal with the problems of low level characters, having monsters only spawn in certain areas, so high level dungeon spawns are only in the dungeons, forest creatures are in the forest, snow creatures in the snow, ect...

Any other questions please address to this forum, my e-mail, or message cevans on the game!

(The name was made up by me and my classmates that all started Koitola over 2 years ago before I joined the army, I left it sitting dormant until now, so I don't know if any of the code is broken.)

Can you provide a link to Koitola (unless I missed it...)? Thanks for mentioning me and providing a link, I just want to check it out. Also, are your changes to the latest version and would you be willing to send them to me to include in a new release? Send me an email if you would like to help with development.

I am more than willing to help you with sending my bug fixes, the problem is, I don't know WHAT I have changed.... I know I did a lot of custom items, monsters, locations, and bug fixes all over the place, or sometimes not bug fixes, just changing things to the way I want them... I don't know!

It is very nice! The design is a bit better than the world of phaos initial one, and it has very good custom images like this one Image

If you share your modded script with me i will be apreciatted! :D

That image you showed is actually from the version of phaos I am working off of, there are only a few images that are custom, like the armor, the monsters, potions (some), and I am still working on more.

I am glad you like it, is there anything exactly that you were looking for with the code?

-> The News System
-> In the left you have a nice table with the details
-> [I don't knwo how to do maps... Because i know how to do it in the PC but i don't know how to add things that are in the ground (items)]

The news system is pretty much embeded into everything in the game, I will try to rip it out for you.

The left side, the only change I made was of the images, everything else is pretty much the same, but if you want I will give you the code for my Side_bar.php

The items on the ground are automatically generated by Phaos in its original release. So any version of Phaos will have items generate randomly on the ground.

Yes, items are randomly generated on all terrain by the game itself. The players as they get one square away from any item on the ground roll to see if they "See" it, if not, than the item is still there, they just don't see the gold on the map TELLING them that it is there.

Update!!

I just made a change that a lot of players have wanted.

Now the monsters show their actual level

So all of "Crazed Local" are Level 1 and easy to kill

While a "Blood Orc" is a Level 7 always and is hard to kill unless level 7

This makes for more consistency in the game because now players can see what is killable without having to first find out about it

This is a really big change for me, I don't know if others have already done it, but I am very happy!

Nice game.

Unfortunatly I cannot seem to engage in combat. The monster is there, but it vanishs when I move to the square.

I like your colosseum script. Any chance of sharing it?

I really like the most of things you've done there :P.

I was wondering if you could share something with me, I really love the highscore where it shows the "top 10 players" and the "players list", I'd love to have that if possible. If you're able to give the code to me I'll surely put a link to your website on my page when I'm done with the game :P.
