Hi Webb,
First off, welcome to the new WoP forums.

How are you adding them to the game?

I will follow what you did and see if I get the same results.
Cheers,

I tried all citys first and no show so I decided to try only one at a time but haven't seen him show up yet.

Gifs should work right?

I have alot of Mud type Gifs I have saved over the years and many cool looking knights.

I dont have time tonigh but I was going to try next to cange the image of an exsiting monster and see if that shows.

On another topic when I take the grid view off or just try to make it bigger it don't change . Still stuck with the smallgrid.

And one more thing I seen is that there dont seem to be a place to link the Guilds sign just says http://theoutcasts.net/mud/phaos/images/guild_sign/
If you place images in that folder how do you link them?

Thanks for the fast responce.

Yeah GIFs should work no problem as they should do in any web page, theres GIFs on the main home page of WoP, the two burning tourches.
So they shouldn't be a problem, but even if they was you'd still encounter the monster at some point if it worked.

If theres a problem with WoP generating new instances of newly created Monsters then I will have to look through the code that places these and see if theres something wrong, as far as I undersand it at the moment, WoP creates monsters on the map randomly selected from its list of monsters from the sql database. Though it does keep there possitions saved untill they are defeated. Maybe trying to delete all placed monsters from the map, export from the database all the monsters, then delete the monsters except all but yours and see if WoP creates monsters on the map again but choosing one of the newly created ones. That, should in theory work, if it does then theres something to be changed in the way WoP creates new Monsters from its database list.

If you find anymore out on this let me know, other wise I will look into this when I get chance.

I beleve at current that the code is either broken or dosen't exist anymore for looking at player prefs to see what size grid and if the gridlines should be shown or not. It used to but, the travel.php script that used to check this has had a major change in the way it handles displaying the maps and the character movements etc.
I will be looking into this at a later date.

Not sure on the guild sigs as this was created after I originally took taime away from WoP but, rest asuraed i am going through the code at the moment to check out changes while cleaning the code layout up (just cosmetics really).

Keep me posted on anything you find out and thanks for bringing this to our attention Webb.
Cheers,

Guild logos are linked to using the Guild Banner field when you create a guild. The link starts in the phaos root directory. So if your guild image was in the guild_signs directory you would enter "images/guild_signs/<name-of-image>" into the Guild Banner field.

Regarding your new monsters:-

The scripts for generating new instances of monsters/opponents works fine, i've checked out the code. I did cheat at getting them to be placed on the map though.

Manually editing your phaos MySQL database, goto the phaos_characters table and 'add a new field at end of table', fill in all the details of your monster just like you did in the admin panel but this time including a location ID number.
Now, you can either look through the locations in the phaos_locations table or do what I did and play WoP with your player character and see what the location ID number is were you want to place your monster ( I did mine a few tiles away from my character ), you do this by hovering the mouse over a tile and wait for the mouse over information about that tile to appear (it's the number that's between the parenthesis you want) enter the ID number in to your monsters location field on the phaos_characters table and then save .

It is the phaos_characters table that ALL the monsters and player characters locations on WoPs maps are stored. If you defeat a monster, code will generate a Random monster from the list of opponents in the phaos_opponents table and place it on the map, creating a new instance of it in the phaos_characters table, while deleting the entry for the defeted monster.

Hope this helps, if not just let me know and I'll see if I can explain it any better.
