Teams

Postby jpoisson » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:01 am

Right now as it stands their is approx 5 active members still browsing this forum. This is both good and bad bad for the reasons because it makes more work for us and good news it feels more personal.

I am here proposing a request for teams. The only way for this to be implemented is for a unanimous vote.

Code: Select all
Game Project Manager (Would be Zeke if he decides to come back) {

  Head Graphic Designer {
    (Leader makes suer that all images/graphical needs are met by the require deadlines by managing a team of  graphical designers)
    Graphic Team
  }

  Head Web Designer {

    (Leader makes sure that the website look is freshly updated and standards appliant. The look of the site is designed by this team)
    Web Design Team
  }

  Head web Developer {
    (This team implements the backbones and creates functionality into the game. By designing the building block set fourth by the other teams this group of independent developers bring everything all together in hopes of success.)
    Developer Team
  }
}

Again i know this is a rough topic to get into but I was wandering everyone opinions on this. Because I realize if we have specific roles it will increase productivity. This doesn't mean you cannot help out other teams but it would mean we we move onto a new task we all have our foundational responsibilities before other.

and lastly a Game Project Manager. Since Zeke isn't active at the moment we need some one who is open to new ideas but willing to take responsible action and make final calls when it is undecided between teams. I would love to to take this role until zeke comes back but I feel that we all should come to a consensus on this. because some one has to lead or we will be throwing ideas back and fourth and not really benefiting the game and the development.

Will I am for joining this, I like the idea and I don't mind the idea of you being the Project Manager.

Thanks McCragge, I talked to Zeke and I think he will be giving me a more official leadership role. So we can begin to organize and plan on the development as well create some new releases.

I just ant to see the collection of bodies we have and find out everyone's talents so we can make great use of them and further advance our knowledge with in our own areas of expertise.

I am still around, I browse the forums, but here is what I work on now:

Koitola v3 is a re-write of the phaos engine to be AJAX/Javascript, with the supporting plugins being primarily JQuery, and MooTools to allow a fully animated world.

I am taking the concept of games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale and using that type of map system that will allow for very detailed and flowing maps like that series in a web-based browser.

With that in mind I do not have much time so I will not take lead design of anything, but if there is anything I can offer it's my knowledge of the phaos/kallen engine for the years I have worked with it.

Thank you Zeke for everything you've taught me, and the Phaos engine is an awesome piece of work, I just hope to take it to the next level of internet gameplay!

Thank you for everything guys!

Glad to see you are still about DaWolf :) And it looks like you haven't given up on your project either! I can't wait to see what you have done with it.

Well technically I did stop using the phaos engine because I am now at the point that I want to push myself to make my own engine, but phaos will always be where I came from so I will always be here to look after the project :)

Glad to hear that. I too am working on another gaming project. But that is a more of a tutorial learning thing I am writing. Starting developers off with the basics then move them into OOP and such structuring.

Anyways there seem to be quite a lot of code to the phaos engine now that I am neatening it up. It feels good to look at this stuff again.
